My collective work as an artist and writer is called the 'Anima Series' because it is a series of works inspired by the experience of my own anima.
The anima part of the male psyche is a little know subject and is a part of the masculine make-up that offers men the opportunity to develop a more rounded and balanced character.
My work is also strongly influenced by the mystic, esoteric traditions of my European ancestors. These traditions are thousands of years old and include symbols, stories, calendar dates, rituals and many other cultural legacies that are part of our cultural identity.
Each of the images in the Anima Series symbolizes a part of my identity. The women who collaborate with me provide a rare opportunity to speak through them and express a part of myself that would otherwise remain hidden.
The Anima Series is a work in progress that I have been building upon continuously since 1984.
