During the heady days of art in Australia in the early 70's Rodney Black was one of a group of artists who frequented the famous 'Yellow House' in Sydney.

Many years on Black opted for a more rural environ, heading to Byron Bay in 1997. Since settling on the North Coast, Black began perfecting the style that he has now become renowned for, depicting the North Coast landscape in opulent simplicity, using a combination of gold, and occasionally silver leaf with oil paints on canvas.
